Back to School!

One of my favorite parts of going Back To School every year, was buying school supplies for my class. Now that I'm not going, I bought a few supplies for the kids that are and gave them a little money to buy a few more, since I didn't know what they would need.

Some of them were able to come for dinner last week and we gave them to them.  The others, got their later.

The Saratoga Springs Clines were the first to go back.
Molly 6th, Abbie 3rd, and Kelsi 1st grade.  All 3 at the same school, so fun!
This year they walk to and from school with friends, they have always had a carpool before.

Oliver will be starting Preschool,  (I'll add his picture when I get it)

The Riverton Clines started on Wednesday.
Libbie 7th, Katie 4th and Gabbie 1st
Libbie rides the bus to Jr. High and Katie and Gabbie ride scooters to elementary
Jack starts preschool this week.

The Hursts started school lastweek too.
Hailey 7th, Aida 3rd and Sophie starts 1st grade this week
Hailey rides the bus and Aida and Sophie walk.

Logan starts 1st grade this week. The bus stops right in front of his house.

A New Babysitter

Sophie has been our babysitting helper with Gabbie and Jack the last year.  This year she goes to kindergarten, so we had to find a new helper.  Oliver was available, so me meet Jamie at his office which is right on our way to Josh's house.

Gabbie didn't have school, so she got to play too!

We got pizza and went to the park for lunch and playtime.

These two played great together.

I told them it was naptime, and Jack got pillows and stuffed animals ready for them to sleep with.

I think Oliver is going to be a great little babysiter!

Boys sleepover

We had a fun sleepover with these two little guys, they helped me make cookies

They love to repair the roof on our playhouse.

We went to the park.

And jumped on the trampoline.

Logan and Parker came for a 5 day sleepover while their mom and dad celebrated their
\10th anniversary.

They love to play in the sandbox.

And jump on the trampoline with Lyndi

We went to the dinosaur playground at City Creek Mall.

Logan's loves going to the Clark Planetarium.

Oliver joined us for a 2 night sleepover (Jack was at his other grandma's on a little vacation)
We rode the trax train to the Clark Planetarium so that Oliver could go with us.

They had lots of fun too!

Oliver and Logan as future astronauts.

We sure enjoy all of the fun boys that have joined our family the last 5 years!

Jordan River temple and sleepover

Libbie turned 12 the end of May, and Hailey turned 12 in July.  We have been so excited to go to the temple with these cute gals.

We are going to try to hit a bunch of the Utah temples with them.  Jordan River was our first.

After the temple we picked up Molly and went to Cafe Rio for dinner.  On our way back to our house, we stopped by DI to drop off a load of stuff.  Libbie had the idea to go try on prom dresses.  These girls had SO MUCH FUN!  They giggled and laughed and spent an hour trying on every prom dress DI had!

They of course had to try on all the heels too!!!!

After DI we stopped and had banana splits at Leatherby's, YUMMMM!

The next morning the girls made tie dyed shirts

They turned out so fun!

Then it was off to Taylorsville pool to cool off.

Such a fun day with these adorable girls.

Fresh Strawberry Jam and Whole Wheat Bread

A few months ago, when I was cleaning out mom and dad's storage room, I found their wheat grinder.  I brought it home, and it has sat in my garage ever since.  A week ago, one of my friends called and said she was helping an 80 year old lady move, who had a bunch of wheat that she was getting rid of.  She wondered if I would like it.  It had been stored for over 20 years in these buckets sealed perfectly.  It was beautiful!

I dusted off the old wheat grinder and found a recipe for whole wheat bread and have been having fun making it ever since.  (I've done 5 batches in the last week and given tons of it away)

A store near me had beautiful strawberries for .99 a pound so I bought a bunch.

I've had some good helpers, help me make some DELICIOUS Strawberry Jam!

They did a great job!

The next day I borrowed a few more.

Taylor even helped me make  some beautiful wheat  bread.

YUMMY!!!!!

It's been so much fun thinking of mom and dad as I grind the wheat and make some bread.
