Happy Valentines Day

To Celebrate Valentines Day, Mike and I had a delicious lunch at the Cheesecake factory. (We went the day after Valentines to avoid the crowd)

I did an early morning doughnut run and got doughnuts, chocolate milk and a bag of apples to deliver to our kids and grandkids as a Valentine treat.

We saw Josh's whole family and bonus, Libbie's boyfriend Matt

Jamie was sick, so she stayed upstairs so she didn't share the germs.

We arrived at Jamie's house just as everyone but Abi was leaving for soccer games.

Krista's big girls were at track, but we got a bonus of Oliver, Matt's nephew.  It was a very fun Valentines day getting to visit with so many of the people we love.

Savannah and Zac sleep over

Jamie and Jordan took their big boys to California to visit Jamie's mom who is very sick.  The 2 little kids had been there with Jamie a few weeks before. We got to tend Savvy and Zac for 4 days while they were gone.  We had a great time.  Savannah loves to bake, we made two kinds of cookies.
.

Zac was our official cookie tester.  ( He had the perfect shirt)
Savvy had her first sewing lesson.  We made warm packs for her brothers.
It felt good after playing outside.

Zac loves playing in our play room.

Savvy LOVES doing crafts. we had so much fun playing with these cute kids.

St. George Vacation

Our neighbors, Jerry and Gisela Smith own a home in St. George where they spend most of their time these days.  They live close to the Red Cliff Temple that was just completed.  They invited us to come for a visit and go with them to the open house.  Gisela is not a member and Jerry has never come to church in the 30 years we've known him but they love to go to the temple open houses.  They've gone with us to the Jordan River and Saratoga Springs temple open houses.  (We are their "secret ministers}

The temple was BEAUTIFUL!  It was decorated in purples, light green, and had such fun fabrics and rugs.  It made me excited to see our Taylorsville temple.

The St. George temple was just remodeled and we missed the open house, but were able to do sealings while we were there.  They let us wander through it and take our own tour.  It was so fun!  It ws also beautiful, but totally different from the Red Cliffs/  It was the first temple dedicated in Utah and they used furniture and fabrics that were similar to those used in that time period.

Temples and Birthday visits

In December, I scheduled a day in January that we could do baptisms for the dead.

Gabbie, Kelsi and Sophie just got their temple recommends and I wanted to get to go with them to the temple.  Josh's girls weren't available, but Krista and Emily came with their girls.  We went out to dinner at Panda Express and had a fun visit.  I love the temple!

We decided this year to celebrate the kids birthdays by taking them out to dinner.   It's fun to get to visit with them and hear about what's going on in their lives.  We let them choose where they want to go and Katie chose Zupas.

Aida chose Chick-fil-A.  These two cute girls were born 1 day apart and it was fun to get to go to dinner with both of them.  They are such sweet gals.

I was able to take some Valentine decorations to Kathy and take lunch to Jaylena on her birthday. I'm glad I'm retired so I have time to visit these sweet cousins.

We celebrated Jeffrey's birthday early at Texas Roadhouse.  He turns 60 this year! (our waiter took the picture and it totally distorted Ric's tummy.  He does NOT have a Santa Belly like the picture shows.)
