Halloween weekend

Tonight we had a fun Halloween dinner and party.

Krista was in charge of decorations for her ward party and let us decorate our party with her decorations.

Logan and Savannah were sick, so their family didn't come.  Everyone else was here.

We played a few games, pop the balloons,

A shuffle board game with Oreos,  to win candy

\

And a little trick or treating around the living room, sewing room, bedroom and bathroom.

It was lots of fun.
We sure missed these cute kids!

Mike's ankle surgery

Mike's ankle has been causing him trouble for quite a while.  He has seen a doctor several times and they finally decided the only thing they can do to help him was to fuse it together.  Wednesday was the day.  They told us it would be about 1hour and 45 min.  It ended up taking about 4 hours due to some trouble with the equipment.  I was sure glad to see him when it was finally over.

My sweet friend Carolyn, brought him over one of her comfy recliners to sit in .We got him a knee scooter to use to get around.  We are sure grateful that Matt did the remodel on our bedroom and his bathroom.  It has made it so much easier to get around. He has had lots of visitors and YUMMY treats.  Thanks everyone!

A trip to the Pumpkin patch

Jamie's work invites all their clients to this super fun pumpkin patch.  Since all our kids have used him to either buy their house or refinance it when the rates went down, they were invited.  (We got to come, just because we are his parents.)  They had a corn maze, bounce houses, a haunted train, a little show and yummy hot chocolate and churros.

Such a fun night, thanks Jamie!

Krista's family came too, but they had to leave early to get Sophie to dance lessons, and I forgot to get a picture of their family.  It was a cold and fun night, Thanks Jamie!!!!

Halloween Pillows

The Little girls had a sleepover this weekend and wanted to make Halloween Pillows.
I took them to the store and they chose scary skeleton fabric.  I showed them how to pin them.

Then they each sewed their own.

They learned how to pivot the corners.

Sophie has sewn quite a bit, and is a great little sewer already.

Next they stuffed them, we had batting all over the place.

Final step was to hand sew them, they all did a great job!

A little project

About a month ago, I noticed the chairs in my living room were starting to wear out.  I have had my couches for about 17 years, and decided maybe this was a sign it was time to get new ones.
I called Krista to see what she was doing and she said she would be happy to meet me at the furniture store.  We found this at Ashley Furniture, and  really loved it.  We went to RC Willey, but I didn't see anything I liked nearly as well, so we bought two of them.

We also bought this cute lamp that was right by it, and two of these fun chairs!

UNFORTUNATELY, they don't have any in stock, and said it could easy be 3 to 6 months before the couches are back in stock.  (Stupid Covid!)  I knew they wouldn't look great with the yellow paint on my walls, so I figured I had some time to repaint. Thurs morning I woke up, looked at my calendar, and had nothing on it until Monday night.  I was a bit bored so I decided to go buy the paint and get started.
I pushed everything to the center of the living room, covered it with drop cloths, and went to work.

By Saturday afternoon, I was all done and my house was put back together again.

It has come full circle.  26 years ago, when we bought this house, we painted it gray.😅

A Fun Weekend

13 years ago Jordan and Jamie got married.

To celebrate, they spent the weekend in Park City, and  we got to play with their cute kids.

Lani, Krista and her girls, joined us on a trip to Gardner Village to see the witches.

We had a great time!

On the way home, Logan wanted to stop at Pet's Mart and see the fish
He just got a new Beta fish .

They fell in love with the kitty, but their mom said NO!

Savvy is getting so big!

It terrified me how fast she can climb to the top of our monkey bars!

We opted to do church at home, and the kids had fun playing legos.

I hope Jamie and Jordan had as much fun as we did!
