Rocket launching with my Primary Activity Boys

A few weeks ago, Sterling, Carol Sue and Misty came and stayed at our house for a week.  Sterling brought his bottle  rocket launcher with him, and we invited all our kids to come to the park for a picnic and launch rockets.  They had so much fun, that I decided I wanted to get a launcher.  Sterling is such a  nice guy, he offered to help Mike build me one before he left.
I did it with my activity boys this past week.
They each brought a soda bottle and made fins or wings to help it fly better.

 They worked great!

We had our little girls test it out when they were her a few weeks ago.

Thanks Sterling and Mike, many hours of fun ahead!

Backyard birds and garden

This summer, Mike built us the most awesome bird feeder, and hung it right outside our bedroom window.    The birds absolutely love it.  Sometimes there have been as many as 7 birds there at a time.  This picture has 5, with one in the bush.
The hummingbirds LOVE the purple flowers.

They also love the hummingbird feeder right outside our kitchen window.
There are often, 2 eating from here at a time.

Our garden box has done well.

We had peas in the early summer, and have been loving all the tiny tomatoes.
Our big ones should be ripening soon too.

We've had lots of yellow crookneck squash, It is delicious in salads or stir fried.

Our green onions did great and we are waiting for our yellow and red peppers to ripen.
Our apple tree has gone crazy this year. There are lots of apples.

I've been having fun turning them into yummy treats!
I made apple crisp, apple bread and apple pie.

I'd forgotten how much fun it was to make applesauce.
Krista used to have apple trees and we would make apple sauce every year.
I love this Victorio strainer!  You put the cooked apples, peel, core and all, into the  top
and out the bottom comes applesauce and all the yucky stuff is in the bag.  It's amazing!

Then, just pour it into your jar.  So fun!

I made DELICIOUS apple turnovers with my activity day boys.

Good Bye Summer!

Summer is almost over, we love spending time with these cute grandkids.
Krista's girls made some cute tie dyed t-shirts and invited me to come and watch.

Krista turned 42 and we took dinner over to her house.  Lani and Sophie decorated.

Hanging out with our crazy boys!

We had a fun end of the summer activity with our Primary kids.  A few of our grandkids joined us.

We spent most of our summer cleaning out Grandma Cline's house.  I'm grateful we were able to take some time to have a little bit of fun too.

Another Boys Sleepover

On Thursday morning, we met at Black Ridge reservoir for some fun in the water. Oliver's family had gone to Disneyland, so they didn't come but the others did.  After the lake, the boys and I stopped at the water park to continue the fun.

They LOVE this waterfall.

They always want to go to our park to play.  I loved Logan and Parker holding hands.

For breakfast, they wanted snake pancakes. They smothered them in whipped cream.

Mike helped them make some fun ride on lawn mowers, (Thanks Home Depot)

They turned out pretty cute!

They really wanted to go to the Space Museum (Clark Planetarium)
I knew with 3 to keep track of I had to dress them alike to make it easier.
Thanks Walmart for having all their sizes of shirts on clearance for $3.

We all had a great time, we missed Oliver, but were pretty sure he was having fun at Disneyland.

We actually snuck in another boys sleepover, since Oliver missed the last one.
We stopped by and said hi to Grandpa Cline

We played at Jordan's house

We rode scooters  to the park, and had lots of fun.
