Dad Turns 85!

Tonight was Dad's 85th birthday and we were invited to celebrate at his favorite place to eat,
  Burger King!
(Robynn came up with the plan and Skyler made this darling invitation)
Since dad goes there quite often, they had no trouble reserving most of the place for his party.
There were 33 of us at the party, but lots of our family celebrated at Burger Kings near them. Dad gave each of us $3, and with some coupons that we had, we all ate like Kings!   Robynn and Lani brought awesome cupcakes and the manager at Burger King, gave everyone there a free ice cream cone.  It was quite the night!!!!

Here's a darling picture of dad that Robynn had made into a poster and had it on an easel at the party.

Here's most of the people who were there!  (Unfortunately, I did miss a few)
Krista, Matt and their family, Lani and Dad

Robynn, Dick, Chris Birks and Ila Fae

Jen and Jeff (sorry about the sun in their eyes)

Our crazy girls!

Robynn had spent several hours interviewing dad about some of the interesting things he had done in his life and put them all together for us to read as we were eating dinner.  Since we were at Burger King, she titled it Whopper of a tale or the Truth.  Then she gave everyone a pack of whoppers as a party favor.
(She is the best person to have in town for a birthday party!!!!)

Uncle Mike was sweet enough to enjoy a Burger King meal at mom and dad's house with mom, who still wasn't feeling quite up to a big night out on the town.

Jordan and his family, Charlie and his family and Pierce and his family,  Tatia and her family, and Chase and Morgan, are all out of state, and sent pictures of them at Burger King.  Here's Jordan while, working out of town someplace in Georgia.

Here's Jamie with her burger. (sad face because she couldn't be at the party)

Even Lexi got to share some of her fries.

Callum,

Keelie

And Charlie in Sacramento.

Piece, Stacy and tiny little Adelaide got her first trip to Burger King in LA.

Tatia, Penny and Maxwell in Virginia

Even Chase and Morgan got in on the fun in Michigan

Thanks dad for the yummy dinner and inviting us to celebrate with you!

A Very Busy Labor Day Weekend!

Bonnie and Dennis were in town last week and invited Mike and I to go to Swiss Days with them.  We parked at Krista's house, and walked a couple of blocks over to the festivities.  There were TONS of booths and lots and lots of fun things to look at.

Mike and I stayed over night at Krista's and went to the parade the next morning.  Hailey and the kids from her school got to ride on a huge trailer with bales of hay.

Midway is such a great little town, and they really know how to celebrate!

She was really excited to get to be in the parade.

Lyndi, Stephanie, Henry and Walter are all in town, so I invited our family over for dinner on Sunday and get to see them.
Henry loved playing with all our cars

And playing outside

Walter is a DARLING little baby, He is about the size of Logan, so it was fun to get to play with him.

\Kelsi and Gabbie are getting big enough to start playing together

They are going to be great friends before long!

How many monkeys hanging in a tree?

Sunday morning, the phone rang about 8:15 and it was Libbie.  She said, "Gram, since you don't have school tomorrow, and I don't have school tomorrow, and Hailey and Molly don't have school tomorrow, what would you think about having us come for a sleepover?"  I thought it was a great idea, so I made a few phone calls and invited their sisters to come as well, so we had the 6 big girls for a sleepover.  Lyndi has been staying with us, and they all LOVE her!  She is so cute with them.

They actually did amazingly well at going to bed, the next morning we made Molly's favorite Pop up pancakes.  She likes to put food coloring and sprinkles on them.

 Pretty fancy stuff

They really do pop up!!!!!

They were very tasty

Thanks Molly for the great idea!

After breakfast and a little playing, I told the girls if they would get their beds made and clean up all the dolls and toys, we could go to the park before their parents came to pick them up.  You have never seen girls clean up so fast!!!!  They had this place looking good in no time and we were off to the park.
Here's the big girls all playing on the tricky bars.
(I'm not sure why I didn't take this picture from the front so I could have seen their faces)

One of the highlights of my weekend was getting to meet my newest and tiniest great niece Adalaide.
Pierce and Stacy surprised mom and Robynn and popped in on them on Sunday.  I was right in the middle of making dinner for my company that was coming, but had to sneak over to Mom's house to see that tiny girl.  She is just darling!
