Welcome Missionaries!

A week ago, one of the counselors from the stake presidency came to chat with us. He asked us if we would be willing to have a couple of Missionaries move in with us. Since we do have a few empty bedrooms, and we LOVE missionaries, we told him we would be happy to have them come. He told us they were checking with 4 other families, and he would get back with us. Thursday night, he stopped by again, and told us we were the winners!!!! None of the others were able to take them. Yesterday, Mike started cleaning out the bedroom downstairs, and we moved beds around and here is the finished product.

A little closer look! I think it turned out pretty nice. They should be moving in around the 1st of Feb.

Another Sleepover (and they actually slept!)

Sunday night we had these 3 for a sleepover, and made them sleep in separate rooms, and they actually went to sleep. They were so good, we will do it again!!! Here they are watching The Swan Princess, one of their favorite movies to watch at my house.

New Pictures for my wall

Since it is almost Aida's birthday, Krista took her in and had the CUTEST pictures taken of her. She had a couple with both girls that turned out adorable too!!!

Krista has a friend who is just starting out a photography business. Emily traded her a haircut and color, for a photo shoot. She did a great job with these two adorable little girls!

Yesterday we met Merijane at the Children's Museum to play with her girls for a few minutes so she could go shopping at Old Navy and hit some of their great sales. Since I didn't have a new picture of Libbie and Katie, while we were at the museum, I sat them next to a wall and snapped a few. This one turned out pretty cute I think!

Happy New Year!!!!

Happy New Year! We had a really fun New Year's Eve. It was the first time in YEARS that I have still been awake at Midnight! We tended all 6 of our granddaughters, while all of our kids went to Krista and Matt's house for a party. It was so much fun, until bedtime. The 3 little ones all went to bed pretty good, and Molly is awesome to go to bed, but Libbie and Hailey, would NOT go to sleep. Finally at 11:30, I was exhausted, so I told them I was going to bed. (I had been laying down with them trying to get them to go to sleep.) A few minutes after I got into bed, they came in looking for crayons, they wanted to color. I couldn't believe they had any energy left. Finally, shortly after midnight, I threatened them with their lives if they said another word, and after about 30 seconds of quiet, they were both asleep.
We decided that we wouldn't have all 6 for a sleepover again for a while, but that it was fun to have them when they were awake. Friday night, we invited them all to come and play, so their parents could have a date night. They all got here about 5:00, and the last ones left at 9:00. A much better plan!!! They have so much fun together, and it's nice that they are big enough that we can handle all 6 at once.
We made some of the craziest breadsticks you have ever seen. I let the girls take turns cutting them, and they were in all shapes and sizes. Here's Libbie pretending to roll out breadsticks, everyone is watching so they can do it too.

Josh and Merijane brought some delicious Chicken and Dumplings for the girls to eat for dinner, yum yum!!!!

After dinner, we covered our coffee table downstairs and gave the girls each a new coloring book to keep them busy coloring. It is amazing that even tiny Abbie likes to color! We had such a good time that we decided to do it once a month, so the cousins can play and the parents get a fun date night.
