Katie Turns 5

It's definitely birthday weekend in our family!  Today was Katie's 5th birthday and we celebrated at her house with a delicious dinner and a LOT of people who love and adore her.  She had a butterfly birthday cake.

And lots of fun presents!

She really likes Doc McStuffins

Jamie made her a cute birthday cupcake shirt.

Here's her new doctor coat I made her to go with the Doc McStuffins doll and Doctor kit her family gave her.

Jamie embroidered Dr. Cline on  a name badge I sewed on the Dr. coat.

What a cute little birthday girl!

Aida's Purplicious 5th birthday party

Yesterday was Aida's 5th birthday party.  She LOVES purple, so she had a Purplicious birthday party.
Tatia made this darling invitation for the party!

 Everyone dressed in purple....

and everything was decorated in purple.  It was darling!!!!

Krista made Macaroni and Cheese (Aida's favorite) in muffin pans so they were little individual servings.  They also had purple jello, grapes, purple punch, and black berries.  So yummy!

Those little girls sure enjoyed it.

After lunch they played Purplicious Bingo and then Hailey read

What a fun book!

In the story, she paints a picture of a cake, and she paints it blue, but doesn't like the color, so she adds pink and turns it purple.  Krista made the coolest paint out of shaving cream and glue, and had them paint their pictures blue

and then add pink to make purple.

The paint was very cool.

It was very fluffy and dried pretty quick.

Aida LOVES Barbies....

and she got lots of fun new Barbies!

Krista made cute little bags for the girls out of the leftover fabric from Aida's birthday dress.

Sooooo Yummy!!!!

A week ago, Molly called me on the phone and wondered if she could plan a sleepover for the girls at my house.  I told her if she wanted to organize it, I would be glad to host it.  She called all the girls, and made a plan. Our 6 big girls all spent the night on Friday.
What a fun time we had!

We made homemade mac and cheese, which is their favorite.  Some of them like potato chips on top, and some like the crunchy onion rings on top, so we did half and half.  After dinner we watched a fun Barbie movie, then the little girls slept upstairs in the nursery, and the big girls slept in the sleepover room.

At about 7:30 in the morning I could tell the big girls were awake, so I went down to see what they were up to.  They were all piled on one of the beds reading Fancy Nancy.
What cute girls!!!!

They played for a while, then while the little girls were still playing, the big girls came and helped me get the table set for breakfast.  It is so nice to have helpers!

We had yummy crepes for breakfast.

After breakfast, we did a little painting project.  They painted wooden hearts.

Abbie got more paint on the paper, than on the heart!

Here's one all painted

Then we glued a plug cover on the back to make a Valentine outlet cover.

Here's mine that Lani gave me years ago that I got the idea from.

They also painted some little tiny heart fridge magnets.

I forgot to take pictures of them, but here are mine, (theirs were much fancier than mine!)

I had a brilliant inspiration to have their moms pack the girls snow clothes, so after breakfast, they put them on and went outside to make a snowman.

It was obvious, they had done this before.
I couldn't believe how fast they put this Snow Lady together!

They had to cut branches from our tree for arms

 With a little teamwork

They made a whole snow family!

Mom, dad and 3 kids!

Before long it was time to go,  we sure had a great time.  Thanks Molly for getting it all organized!

I loved this picture of Gabbie and Kelsi inside my fridge looking for a snack for the ride home!
