Sleepover with Carissa, Hailey and Libbie

This morning we met Kathy and picked up Carissa
for a sleepover. Then we went and got Hailey and
Libbie and headed to the zoo.

They loved seeing the penguins

and the zebras,

but our FAVORITE was the one day old baby giraffe!!!
(If you look close, you can see him eating his breakfast
right by his mom) We all had to be very quiet so we
wouldn't scare him.

Without even planning, all the girls wore pink, so
we had to get a picture of us.

After the zoo, we went to a park close by for a picnic.

Then off to the Children's museum.

Carissa was awesome at the climbing wall!

After the Children's museum, we came home for dinner
and then called Grandma Cline to see if we could come
and swim at her pool. She was happy to have us come.
Both girls are wearing the swim suits she gave them for
their birthdays. Sooooo cute!

It was a beautiful evening, and we loved cooling off
in the pool.

Tatia sent us the recipe for Jollipops, that you make
with Jolly ranchers. We took the stuff over to Gigi's
house and had a great time making the suckers!

On the way home, I had to stop at the store and grab
some salad dressing to take to a funeral luncheon
tomorrow, and left the girls in the van (with Mike and
Carissa) When I got back after 10 minutes, this is what
I found! I think we wore them out!!!! Mike and I carried
the little girls to bed and they didn't even wake up. What
a fun day we had!!!

Playing with the grandkids!

While I was at the hospital with dad, Mike tended
Hailey and Aida while Krista helped serve lunch
after a funeral in her ward. Since Hailey was such
a good girl, he took them to Arctic Circle for lunch
after Krista got home. Hailey LOVES playing on the
playground there. Aida was too tired to play, maybe
next time!

Wednesday night is our night to play with Libbie
and Katie while Merijane works and Josh goes to
Young Mens. When I got there, Libbie had to
show me the new shoes she got that were almost
like mine. Pretty cute don't you think????

We brought a swing for Katie to add to their swingset.
She had lots of fun swinging in it.

After playing in the back yard, we took a walk to
visit Aunt DeeAnne and Uncle Boyd. Boyd was out
buying pizza for dinner, so we didn't get to spend
much time with him, but we enjoyed visiting with
DeeAnne.

We wore Katie out, she feel asleep before we got
off Boyd and DeAnne's street!

Libbie, however, was just as goofy as ever!!!!

Out of surgery

Dad's surgery went great, and we are hoping that
everything will stay that way this time!!! The
doctor was able to get the old lens out, and replace
it with a new one, he said the surgery was
"slick as a whistle." He felt really good about
everything, and dad goes back to see him on Friday.
Keep your fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that
the 3rd time is the charm and he will be seeing things
more clearly real soon!!!!

After surgery, the cute nurse that was helping
dad, said that we all looked familiar to her. We
asked her where she lived and she was from
Sandy, and her maiden name was Provitt. She
grew up in mom and dad's ward, and I used to
babysit her. It was fun to see Holly again, she
is married with 3 kids. We forgot to get dad his
glasses out, and so he was searching for them,
when I took a picture.

Here we go again!!!

Last Tuesday, dad had surgery on his eye, to
reattach the lens that had come loose after his
cataract surgery. The doctor was able to reattach
it, and hoped that everything would go well.
On Saturday morning, he woke up, and could see
the lens and the prongs floating around. That
was all he could see as he still has no vision in
that eye. He called his Dr., but found out that he
was out of town, so he spoke to the Dr. on call,
who, told him to make an appointment on Monday.
I took him in yesterday, and we saw Dr. Britton, who
was the Dr. that was on call. He told us that he wasn't
in any danger (the floating lens wouldn't do any damage)
and to go see his Dr. tomorrow to find out what
he should do. Sooooo, today we saw dad's Dr.
and after he explained and apologized for what
had happened, (with the cool eye model shown
above) he scheduled him for surgery
tomorrow (Wed.) to take out the old lens and
put in a new one, with stronger prongs that
SHOULD stay in place better than the first! We
were very happy that he could do it so soon.
Hopefully tomorrow will be a great day and he
will be on the road to recovery and seeing again!
It has really cramped his style to not be able
to drive, and go wherever he wants to.

No, these are not a couple of movie stars, just
mom and dad outside the hospital!

Summer birthday celebration

Summer is birthday time in our family. We
have Josh and Hailey on July 6th, then Mike on
the 18th, "Little Jamie" on the 20th, Jordan on
the 28th, and Krista and Molly on Aug. 11th. We
took all the kids except our Texas Cline's) to
Texas Roadhouse to celebratethe summer birthdays.
I had tried to call ahead to get reservations,
but their phone line wasn'tworking. When we got
there, they said it was a two hour wait, if we wanted
one big table, or they could seat us in 25 minutes,
if we could do 2 tables, one behind the other.
We opted for two tables! The girls had fun playing
on the saddle (even though it doesn't look like it,)
and throwing peanut shells on the floor. The girls
both wanted to sit by Jamie and Jordan, so they
had lots of fun trying to get them to stay in their
seats and eat their food. (their parents quite
enjoyed their meals, only having to wrestle with
the babies and not the big girls.

After dinner we sent the parents off to the movie
and put on Peter Pan for the girls to watch. Katie
was pretty into it, but Aida was more interested
in the pattern on the quilt Grandma Cline made
that's on our bed.

I spent some time with the babies practicing
their sitting skills. It was kind of like dominos,
when one tipped, they knocked over the other one.

I decided to take the babies for a walk while
the big girls finished watching their movie.
They loved looking at each other in the stroller!
Katie fell asleep on the way home, and Aida
fell asleep as soon as we got home and gave her
a bottle. What NICE tiny girls we have!!!!

Cooling off in the wading pool

Josh's family and Krista's family went to the
mountains for a picnic. They roasted hot dogs
and made somores. Josh's family came over to our
house to wait until it was time to go out to dinner.
Libbie was hot and wanted to play in the wading
pool. Katie LOVED the water! Jamie and Jordan
were also at our house and had fun playing
with the girls.

A day with Dad

Today I got to spend the day with my dad.
He has been having problems with his eye,
and had to have surgery. He hasn't been able
to drive for over a month, and we are hoping
after this, he will be able to see well enough
to drive again. His doctor felt good about the
surgery, he has to go in tomorrow to have it
checked. We went to Skippers for lunch after,
Yummy!!!!!

Birthday outfits from Lani

Great Aunt Lani is really a GREAT AUNT!
She adores all our granddaughters and is so
generous to them. She bought them the cutest
dresses for their birthdays. We had them all
wear them so we could get a picture. Oh what
a wild time we had trying to get a cute picture
of those 5 little girls. It's nice now that both
babies can almost sit up alone, it was Molly
who we needed a seat belt for, she kept trying
to escape. The first one was the best one of Josh's
pictures. His camera is amazing, so in about 2
minutes, he took 65 pictures. It's like watching
a video. No one is smiling in this one, but they
are all looking in the same general direction. I
added a couple more too. So much fun!
What cute girls we have!!!!!!

July birthday celebration!

Since Emily and Molly were going to be in town,
we planned our July birthday dinner so they
could come. It was great to see everyone. I
think we were all here, except Chip and Elycia
who go to her grandparents on the 3rd Sunday.
Here are a few pictures of the party.

Cierra loves our tiny girls and almost always has one
of them in her arms!
