Remodel update, my bathroom

Monday, Nov 11 was Veterans Day and Matt and Paul, had the day off work, so they came and put in my tub.

Mike started the taping and mudding the room.We mudded and sanded and mudded and sanded.
Then it was finally read to paint.

Nov. 17, Matt and Paul set the tile, I LOVE it!!!!
Tomorrow, we are going to grout it and then the guys will come back and put in the vanity and toilet.

All Done!

It's a TINY bathroom, but has everything I need.

Jamie's baby shower

On Friday night, we had a baby shower for Jamie's little baby.  All of our girls came, as well as Kathy, Cierra, Lucy, Carissa, Elycia, Paige, Calvin, Jen, Lauren and Emerson.  It was so much fun!
The Thiot's sent darling shower gifts from across the country, so she got LOTS of cute things.

Tatia is so sweet and talented and made adorable  tags for the shower puffs.

I was able to find puffs in just the right colors.

Merijane brought cream puffs and eclairs, Krista brought vegetable platter and some amazing spinach dip with baguettes, I made sugar cookies and bought mini cheesecakes, and Lani brought a cheeseball and crackers.  EVERYTHING tasted soooooo yuimmy!
We can't wait to welcome this tiny punkin to our family!!!!!

Emily hosted it at her house and had it decorated so cute. She had all kinds of cute gold and purple decorations.   (I totally failed on getting pictures of everything and everyone who came.)

We can't wait to meet this baby in about a month and a half, we love you already tiny one!

Jamie had her sister Michelle take these beautiful pictures of her.  They turned out so great!

Such a cute family!

Bedroom, bathrooms, sewing room remodel

For the past little while, Krista has been trying to get us to move.  Mike is slowing down a little, and she is worried that he might someday end up needing a wheel chair, and our house isn't really easy to get around in if you are in a wheel chair.  Mike did NOT want to move and so he began thinking of ways to make our bedroom and his bathroom easier and more accessible.  He figured out what he thought would work and was ready to get started.  YIKES!  It takes me a little longer to get used to the idea.  I told him to wait until after the holidays to get started, but then after thinking about it decided that if we started now, when the holidays were over, we might be almost done, instead of just beginning.  I texted Matt, and asked him if we could hire him to help us and he was so nice to say yes.  He also has talked his amazing brother into being his assistant, and so they are going to town!
Oct. 19 the demolition began, he took the wall out between our bedroom and Krista's.
The next week he framed in the closet, moved the fan, put in some electrical outlets, and added can lights

He installed a pocket door at the end of the hall

Nov. 2 they tore apart the bathrooms.  They took 16" out of my bathroom to give Mike's bathroom a little more room.

Nov. 9th, they worked on the plumbing and put a light in the showers and fans in the ceiling. and framed in the wall between the two bathrooms.

I should have taken a picture of the HUGE pile of garbage that came out of this small space!
We also took everything out of my sewing room, to get it ready for the new floor this week.

Happy Halloween

Jordan's family LOVES the Avengers, so they dressed up as Captain America, Spiderman, Pepper Potts and Nick Stark (Iron Man)

Krista's girls, two witches and a 50's gal

Josh's kids are a beautiful unicorn, an astronaut and a glow stick girl.
Katie was Malificient for school but really wanted to be a glow stick person at night.

Libbie was Minnie Mouse

Jamie's family spent Halloween week in Cabo San Lucas on the beach, so they were beach bums.

Fall Break

For some crazy reason, Utah schools don't coordinate their Fall Breaks.  Jamie and Krista's kids had it the same days, so we went to a fun place called The Rush Fun Center.

The kids had a blast!

Fun bumper cars

A foam pit to jump in and a rock wall to climb

We met at the movie theater and saw Toy Story 4, it was very cute!  Then the Bigs, went to Josh's house, the Middles, came to our house, and the Littles went to Jamie's house for a sleepover

These girls love to bake, so we made pretzels

and pumpkin rice crispy treats.

We had these two cute boys for a sleepover and did some fun Halloween Projects

A little painting

We made a trip to Gardner Village to see all the witches.  These boys had never been and really enjoyed it!

They especially loved the trip to the petting zoo.  These two LOVE animals!

We got to go to a fun bounce house with Josh's kids.  Boy can they bounce!

Now it's back to school for everyone until Thanksgiving Break!

A new fence

For Mike's birthday this year, he didn't want presents, but asked for our boys to help him build a fence. It was way tooooo hot in July, so we waited until Oct. when it cooled off. We have had a chain link fence on the East side of our house, and a wood fence everywhere else.  Mike took down the chain link fence and did some of the preliminary work before they came.  They all showed up with their nail guns and tools

They all showed up with their nail guns and tools

And in one day got it all done!!!!  Thanks guys for all your help!!!

Jason and Jordan's September wedding

My cousin Wanda's cute son Jason got married and Lani and I took a road trip to Idaho to atend,

It was a lot of fun!  This was the first time all of Ruby's kids have been together since her funeral.

They are very outdoorsy, so they had a fun cake to show it.
They also served a delicious Mexican dinner.  So glad we were able to go.
