Our adventure day

Josh is at scout camp this week, and since Merijane works on Wednesday, we picked up the girls early today so she could go to work. Just before I went to pick up the girls, I got this great idea to play at Gateway on the way home. I called Krista at 9:15 and she was out jogging. I had to pick up the girls in Woodscross at 10:00. I asked Krista if she and her girls would like to join us. She turned around and headed for home, and grabbed their swim suits, and met me at the freeway and we made it to Josh's house on time. I loved this picture of Aida

Nothing like water to put a smile on your face

4 very wet girls

Getting wet when it's so warm feels soooooo good!

On our way out of Gateway, Libbie showed us this great echo room. The girls loved making all kinds of noises, very loud, and running all around there.

Just as we were leaving Gateway,we saw the Trax train go by. We had never taken them on a ride on it, and I asked them if they would like to go, and they were all excited so away we went. Here they are waiting for the train.

Here we are on Trax, the girls were great and loved the ride!

Krista had been wanting to take the girls to the Church History Museum, so when they announced the Temple Square stop, we hopped off and headed there. They had the funnest display set up and the girls absolutely LOVED it. We were there for 2 hours and they didn't want to leave. They had Nephi's boat and some fishing poles with magnets and fish, Libbie and Katie were fishing and Hailey was below putting fish on their lines down below

Aida checking out Nephi's boat

There was a display teaching the girls how to hand sew that was giant

These two really got into the sewing

There were lots of quilts and they had magnet quilt pieces the kids could put together on a HUGE magnet board to make all kinds of interesting patterns

there was an area where you could plant a garden

There was a wall that had tons of Book of Mormon dolls, lots were made of wood and had clothes you could velcro on

More Book of Mormon dolls

There was a table where you could pretend to eat dinner with the missionaries

Aida doing dishes after feeding the missionaries

They had a display where the kids could put on fancy Mexican skirts, and had a video on a big screen showing them how to dance. On the other wall was a mirror that was huge!!!!

The dancing was Hailey's favorite part of the day, we need to make the girls some skirts like these, they were darling.

We had some very tired girls at the end of the trip. Katie and Aida made a little bed for themselves out of some benches and giant soft building blocks. It was such a fun day, thanks Krista for dropping everything and coming to play! I think that was the most spontaneous, fun day I have had in years!!!
