Happy Mother's Day 2013!

This past Sunday was Mother's Day.  I am so thankful for the wonderful mother that I was blessed with.  She has more than supported me in anthing I ever wanted to do.  She showed me how to be a good mom, and a fun grammy, for that I will always be grateful.

Our kids all went in on my Mother's Day gift this year.  They printed my blog for the last 4 years!  One book for each year.  Jamie and Krista put them together and had them printed off, what a treasure!!!!!  I have loved looking through them and remembering what has gone on, so many things I have forgotten, it's fun  to have the memories come back.  Thanks so much,     I LOVE them!!!

On Sunday, Jamie and Emily invited us to a Mother's Day dinner at their house.
They fed us a delicious dinner and then we LOVED watching tiny 3 1/2 year old Abbie ride her two wheeler.  (sorry I sound so dumb being the comentator)

They had us watch a sweet video on LDS.org about mothers.  What a fun night, thanks Jamie and Emily for the invitation.  We love spending time with your sweet family!

A few weeks ago, we found out that Stacy and Pierce were going to be in town, so we planned a family dinner so we could all get to see them.  We were going to do it at my house, but I ended up with a kidney stone that week, and was flat in bed for 3 days.  Lani was sweet enough to reserve the park by their house and did all the preparations for the awesome evening.  (She is the BEST!)

Even some of the tiniest cousins were so happy to see each other!

Carrisa sure likes being an aunt!

Cierra and Hailey had matching outfits!  Love that hot pink!!!!

As we were getting ready to leave, Hailey wanted to try out Jeff's motorcycle.

When he asked her if she wanted to go for a ride, she said, 'Yes, but YOU drive!"

What a great evening with so many great people that I love so much!!!

Good bye missionaries, Hello, sleepover room!!!!

After over two years of having missionaries in our home, they are moving on to greener pastures.  Elder Wilson went back to Dallas Texas, and Elder Conley got transferred to work with the Taylorsville Single Adult ward.  We have LOVED having them in our home!

I have had fun the last few days preparing their room to be a "sleepover room" for our granddaughters and soon to be grandson!!!  I found these fun bedspreads on sale at Kohls, and with a 30% off coupon, and $20 bounce back money, they ended up being pretty reasonably priced.

When the missionaries were moving in, one of my neighbors I was over visiting, was getting rid of this end table.  They had a load of stuff going to DI, and I asked her if I could have it.    It was made of pressboard, covered with that paper finish, and wasn't in the best shape.  It worked great for the missionaries, but by the time they left, it was in worse shape. The finish on the top was nearly all off and it looked pretty awful.

I put a thin layer of sheet rock mud over the entire top and lightly sanded it, and with a little spray paint, it turned out very cute!

I also had this printer stand that was out of the same stuff, and painted it up for a little bookshelf in the room.

I found 3 of these shelves at a yard sale yesterday and thought they would work great in there.

We havent decided yet what color to paint the room, but things are moving along.  We have a trundle to put under one of the beds, since we often have 3 girls at a time.  We are going to put  this crib in there, since I put a white one in the nursery upstairs, and then we'll be all set when Logan comes to visit, or when we have several tired granddaughters here at the same time.

Here's what it looks like so far, I can't wait for our first sleepover in the new room!!!!

Aunt Marie turns 80!

This weekend, we were able to celebrate my Aunt Marie's 80th birthday.  It was amazing how many people came to join the fun.  Bonnie came all the way from Florida, June from Kentucky, Jerry Lynn from Washington, Bud and his family from California, Wanda, Mike and Karen Moore, Sandy, Dennis and their family from Idaho, and tons of people from Utah.

My cousin Sandy, who lives in Nampa Idaho, planned the whole party and did most of the work.  She is one awesome party planner!!!!  There was LOTS of delicious food and it was great to get to visit with everyone.

Here's her sweet family who helped her pull this party off.

Lots of  cousins were there,  Jeff, Lance, Ric, Jerry Lynn, Kim, Mike Moore, (all you can see is the tip of his head behind me) Bonnie, Becky, Sandy, Wanda, Aunt Marie, Michelle, and Randy.  There were quite a few more that I didn't get a picture of

Sandy collected pictures and made this darling poster.

Our Adorable Granddaughters!

Tonight we had all the kids over and took our annual picture in our tulips.   I bought all the girls these sundresses, but it was pretty chilly today, so thankfully, Lani had given them all denim jackets for Christmas. I had them all bring those so they didn't freeze to death.  Josh brought his awesome camera and took tons of pictures, and this one turned out pretty cute.

Since Gabbie is the only one you really can't see in the picture, here's a picture of that cute baby girl peeking around the corner in my kitchen.
