2013 Early Christmas!

On Saturday, Dec. 14th, Jordan, Jamie and Logan came to Salt Lake for a quick visit.  They were on their way to California, and were able to make a detour for a few days.  Jordan interviewed on Monday at BYU for their MBA program.  We are hoping he gets in, so they will be back in Utah!

We decided to do our Family Christmas, while they were here.  We invited everyone over for dinner and presents.

We  have been trying to come up with something to do for our kids and grandkids, and couldn't think of anything fun.  Then, we came up with the idea of taking them to Disneyland.  We have been saving for years for this trip, but every summer, someone either has a new baby, or is very pregnant.  Since Logan will be one next summer, we thought next summer might be our window of opportunity to go.

While we were in Georgia, Jamie appliqued shirts for all the kids

They turned out adorable, she does such good work!!!!

The girls were thrilled with the shirts and excited to go to Disneyland together in July!

We gave them each some money and loaded up in the cars and headed to the Disney store, where they each got to choose their own present.

It was CRAZY trying to keep track of them all!

They had lots of fun trying to decide what they wanted to buy.

All of the girls except Kelsi, chose fun Disney dolls.

There were LOTS of smiles!

Everyone found something they were excited about.  Kelsi and Logan got a set of cars from the movie Cars.
The parents were good sports to pack up the girls on such a crazy traffic night to head to SLC.

The evening ended up just as fun as I hoped it would!  Can't wait until July!!!!!

Making Nativities with the girls

In October, I was at Dollar Tree and saw these cute stables.  I called Krista to see if she thought we could figure out a way to make a nativity to go in them and she was pretty sure we could, so I bought them.

I made a sample one after checking out Pintrest and Google for ideas.

I got enough so the big girls could each make one.

Theirs turned out so darling!

They all did such a good job, it was one of the funnest projects we've ever done together!

When mom saw them, she wanted to make one, so I went over to her house and we made one together.

I sent some home for Jamie, her mom and sister to do during the holidays, I hope they have fun too!!!

2013 Thanksgiving in Georgia

Thanksgiving 2013 was spent in Leesburg Georgia with Jordan and his cute family.

He had been telling us he would deep fry a turkey if we came......
and he did!

It was nice enough weather so that he could do it out in his back yard.

It turned out beautiful!

and tasted AWESOME!!!
One of their friends brought a baked turkey and he did the deep fried one, so we were in turkey heaven!

Jamie was busy making delicious pies

and Logan was our taste tester.

Kristie, Derrick and their two little girls joined us for dinner.

I loved spending time getting reacquainted with our favorite grandson.

Jamie made Logan two darling Thanksgiving shirts.

This  one had a cute turkey on it.

Even Lexi had a festive scarf for the holiday.

This is one of my favorite pictures of two of my favorite guys.

As soon as we cleaned up, Jamie started decorating the tree.

Logan is the smiliest little guy, but as soon as my flash went off, it startled him and his smile disappeared.

Here he is on the horse one of Robynn's friends gave to her, and she gave to Logan.

Here he is in the rocker, that mom and dad gave him.
(He really liked it, even though he isn't smiling!)

Jordan had a project for Mike.
They had bought an old horse, and had Mike repaint it for Logan.  It turned out great.

Logan and Jordan

Jordan can get Logan laughing like no other!

All cozy after his bath in the towel Jen and Jeff gave him.

Thanks Jamie and Jordan for all the fun and YUMMY food, (Jamie is an EXCELLENT cook!)

Preschool at Grammy's school

It's that time of year, when my 8th grade students do a preschool for two days. One of the days, there were only 2 kids that could come, so I invited our 4 year olds to come. Libbie was off track so she came too. Mike was sweet enough to gather all the girls and bring them to my school. It was lots of fun to have them there!!!!
Singing time!
Arts and crafts

Oh how they love to glue

They were so nice, they came to both of my classes that did preschool, then Libbie tended them while I taught my 7th period class.

Fun with 3 big girls

We invited the 3 big girls over for a sleepover. It was such a nice day, we went to the zoo.

August 2013 Mom's surgery

In August, Mom had a valve replacement surgery on her heart. The surgery went well, but while recovering from it, she fell and fractured her pelvic bone.

She ended up back in the hospital, for some extensive rehab.

She had to work very hard and still continues to work to get her strength back
