Gigi to the rescue!

Yesterday I was cleaning out my storage room and found this quiet book that mom had made for Krista 30 years ago.  She was the MOST AMAZING grandma, the things she did were unbelievable!!!  I like to think of myself as a decent grandma, I'm pretty good at finding fun stuff at yard sales or at DI, but my mom MADE the funnest things. She made doll beds out of everything you can think of, and there were always little quilts to go with them.  When Krista was a tiny girl, she called her the Queen of the doll clothes, because she could make the most darling doll clothes.  Well, this quiet book was pretty dirty and all the pieces were missing so I washed it up and called mom to see if she would help me revive it.  It was obvious how many hours she had spent on it, and I thought it would be fun to bring it back to life, but I knew I need her help to do it.  She was more than willing and it was so fun to see that she still has more talent in her little finger than I will ever have!!!!

We made a new train for the train track

a car, plane and tree and clothes for the dolls

new felt balloons, (I actually did those myself) and a new dress for the little doll

New clothes and close pins for the clothes line

I think this is the only page that didn't need anything new

We used her awesome laminator  that Robynn gave her to laminate a cute little Indian we found on the internet.  It was such a fun day and I am grateful to have such a talented mom to help me out!  I think my granddaughters will love this book just as much as Krista did, thanks mom!!!!

New sunflower wreath

A few days ago I was at Hobby Lobby, and wanted to buy a sunflower wreath to go by my front door.  They only had one and it was not too pretty and cost $99.  Even with a 40% off coupon, $60 was a little pricey for something not beautiful.  They did have some gorgeous sunflowers, so I bought 3 bunches of them, and a 24" grape vine wreath.  Krista came over yesterday and worked her magic and walah, a gorgeous wreath.  (It is so wonderful to have such a talented daughter)

Here it is by my front door with the cute sunflower welcome plaque that Kathy gave me for my birthday last year.

I decorated my living room with sunflowers.  (I made the frames and bought the sunflowers for Jamie and Jordan's wedding brunch and have enjoyed them ever since)

 More sunflowers

 and a few more!!!!

What a Beautiful Baby!

Emily has a friend that has started her own photography business and as you can see, does a good job!  Here is tiny little Kelsi, just over a week old, sleeping as usual.

Our first time tending tiny Kelsi

Jamie called today to see if we would like to tend his girls while they went out to dinner.  Of course we said YES!!!! They even left tiny Kelsi with us, it was so fun, I finally got to see her with her eyes open and she has BEAUTIFUL eyes!!!!

Molly brought her bike and had a surprise for us, she can ride it without training wheels.  Jamie took them off this week, and she took off immediately!  They had a balance bike that has no pedals that she has been practicing on, and she is amazing!!!  She is our youngest granddaughter to be able to ride a two wheeler, the others have been 6 before they figured it out.  Way to go Molly, she figured it out before she turned 5!

Abbie got a new bike this week and is doing great on hers too.

Molly is a great big sister, and loves to help take care of Kelsi.

Fun with Katie

Yesterday my phone rang and it was Katie, she called to chat and while we were chatting, Libbie tried to take the phone away so she could talk, and it turned into a fight.  Merijane said they had been having a bad day, so I hopped into my car and went and got Katie for a sleepover.

We had such a fun time.  I don't think we've ever had Katie by herself, and we sure enjoyed her.  We played games, jumped on the trampoline, made rice crispie treats, pretzels and lots of fun things.  While out on a walk with her, she saw a wishing well.  I asked her what she would wish for if she could make a wish.   She said that she would wish that we could come to her house every day!!!  I love my little granddaughters!!!

When Josh and Merijane came to pick up Katie, Libbie said, Gram, I am so lucky to have the best grandparents in the whole wide world. (we were just heading out to play in our back yard) when I asked her why, she said "One of my friends grandmas, all she has in her back yard is grass"  We do have a pretty fun backyard for kids to play in! Kids say the funniest things sometimes.

Welcome Elder Harun from Malaysia!

While we were gone, our little greenie Elder Hall got transferred and we got a new elder  from Malaysia. His name is Elder Harun.  He and Elder Amundsen are doing a great job in our stake.

On July 1st 2 new missions were created in the Salt Lake area.  Our missionaries are now in the Salt Lake City Central mission.  They got a new mission president, President Richard Moffat from the Foothill area, just outside mission boundaries.
