Another one of our Salt Lake Connect Passes was to the Natural History Museum
Jamie and Emily were busy, and couldn't come, so we invited dad to come.

There were lots of cool things to see and we all had a great time

There were archaeologists there to teach us a little about how they CAREFULLY dig for bones.

Time Out For Women

This past weekend, I had the opportunity to go to TOFW in St. George with some of my most favorite ladies.  Just as I was finishing packing to go, Lani reminded me that we needed a notebook to take with us.  I couldn't find a cute one, so I covered a composition notebook that I had, with scrapbook paper.  It turned out so cute, that I did a Walmart run at 11:00 pm and bought one for all the girls, and covered theirs.  So fun to get to our conference, and find they matched the bags they gave us perfectly!!!

The theme was Arise, we had lots of good speakers.  The first was Mary Cook a former YW General President.  She spoke about what happens "When Life Takes a Detour"  She said the best things we can do are to be Obedient, give Service, be willing to Sacrifice, remember to Fast and Pray.  Then Brad Wilcox spoke on Grace. He taught us that Grace gives us strength to make us strong and can be seen even when tender mercies can't.  Grace is the power the atonement makes available to us.
Nathan Pacheco was the musical entertainment for the evening and he was amazing.  We loved hearing him sing!  Saturday morning we heard from Jenny Reeder on Going Out to the Miracles.  We learned that miracles are intended to be proof of Christ's activity in our lives.  She shared stories of pioneer women as well as personal stories.  She taught us to look for the miracles in our lives.  Wendy Ulrich spoke on Gaining Confidence.  We need to beware of the temptation to retreat from a good thing.  She asked us to all think about the question, what am I supposed to do to make a difference, and then to have the confidence to do it!  Hillary Weeks was the musical entertainment for Saturday.  She has a beautiful voice and her music has incredible messages.  Probably my favorite speakers were the "Sistas in Zion" Tamu Smith and Zandra Vranes. They taught us that no matter what color we are, where we live, what we do, we are Sistas in the gospel.  They were so much fun as they gave their message.  On Sunday, we went to church together, then went back to the condo, ate lunch and headed for home.  The boys did great tending the kids and all of us came home to clean houses.  What great guys we have.

Everyone brought treats, so we had a great time feeding our tummies as well as our spirits!

Thanks girls for making this such a fun weekend!
