Skyler and Shannon's Utah wedding

I love this picture of Skyler, Shannon, and Elinor.  Such a beautiful wedding!  They gave the sweetest vows that they each wrote for the other.  So glad we could be there.

They got engaged in early spring and planned a fall wedding.  They ended up finding a house in Dallas to buy, so Shannon moved to Dallas from Utah in the summer and they had a small wedding at the courthouse with just their parents.

All of Skylers siblings and their families were able to come to the wedding in Utah.  Ricky and Becky stayed with Pierce, Tatia and Jake stayed with Krista, Charlie and Jen stayed with us and Robynn and Dick, stayed with Lani.  It was wonderful to have all of them here for the weekend.

Everything was so nice.  Congratulations Sky and Shannon!

Our sleepover with Zac

Jamie and Jordan took their 3 big kids to an Imagine Dragons concert and we got to have Zac for a sleepover.  We visited with Krista, who has Llamas right by her house.  He did not know what to think of them.

He is the perfect age for our playroom, we spent hours in there playing with everything.

This boy LOVES books just like everyone else in his family.

He cooked me some carrots and when he gave them to me he said, It Hot!

We had the best time with this little guy, he is soooo much fun!

Our trip to visit Paula and Bob

In October, Mike and I took a road trip to Cortez Colorado to visit Paula and Bob.  They live on 5 beautiful acres.  They have been working hard on landscaping and builing all kinds of things ever since they bought the property. They are such great hosts, we had a wonderful time!

They are building a pool house for Bob's pool table and part of it will be an art studio for Paula.  Mike was able to help him with the siding.

Here's a view with their carport/shed that they build using a semi trailer for their storage.

I was able to go with Paula to her belly dancing class.

Bob has an incredible garden and has been canning tons of food from it.  He cooked us all kinds of delicious food, and sent us home with all these tasty canned goods and some opo squash for our neighbor who is from Thialand.

She made a yummy stir fry that she shared with us.

September birthdays

Our little Zac turned 2 and Jamie did the cutest birthday party for him.  It was based on his favorite book about a very hungry caterpiller.  He was so cute, he loved all his presents.

Abi turned 15 and we got to go to her house for dinner on her birthday.  A few weeks later, we were able to find a day to take her to lunch.  We went to Wing Stop and it was so good.

End of summer fun

With summer drawing to a close, I thought it would be fun to give each of the kids going to school a little money to buy something fun for school.

These girls shopped at a mall out in Riverton and then we went to Subway for lunch.

The boys opted to not shop for clothes, but to go to Airbourne, a fun trampoline park with their money.  They opted for Wendy's for lunch.

The Littles had a sleepover and went to a balloon festival in Sandy in the morning.  Then we went to Southtowne mall and found some fun things for school there.  We went to Cafe Rio for lunch.

I totally forgot to take a picture with the Bigs, so heres an old one of these cute girls.  We went to a mall in Riverton and shopped with them.  They also found some fun things and the went to the Shake Shack for shakes and fries.

I picked up Savvy and took her shopping, but there are no fun places to find clothes in Eagle Mountain.  She wanted to go to Pets Mart to look at the fish, so we looked at all the animals there and she saw a lego set of a unicorn that she really wanted, so we bought that and a few other fun things we found at Walmart.   Then we went to Chick-Fil-A for lunch, Savvy is such a cute girl!

Shannon's Bridal Shower

We are so exicted that our nephew Skyler has found a wonderful girl!  Lani and I gave a shower for Shannon at Lani's beautiful home last night.

Shannon's mom lives in Eagle Mountain and joined us.

We had lots of our family too!  (Savvy and Gabbie were downstairs playing)  So nice that Bonnie was in town so she could meet her and see so much of our family.

We had tons of delicious food!

Fruit tray, vege tray, cheese and crackers, pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies, pumpkin chocolate chip muffins, apple bread, chips, salsa, queso, and guacomole.  so yuimmy!  It was fun for everyone to get to know Shannon.  We had some get to know you questions that we passed out and they asked as she opened their present.   What a great night!

Flower Power

This morning my cute neighbor Mary, called and told me that she has a friend who owns a flower shop.  Her friend had dropped by a bunch of flowers that she had no idea what to do with.  She asked me if I would like to arrange them and deliver them to people who might enjoy them.

I was more than happy to do it!  I called Krista and asked if her girls might like to help me.  Sophie had a lesson in young womens on Sunday about faith.  Her teacher had shown them a pack of seeds, and taught them about what you have to do to help them grow into flowers and realated it to how to help your faith to grow.  She had a bunch of flowers and let the girls each make an arrangement to take home.  Sophie's was beautiful, so I knew she would be a big help!

Lucky for me, she was available and did a great job of teaching me how to do it.

I delivered some to Lauren and Emmy

Jeffrey and (Jen not pictured) but Emmy with Jeffrey

Kathy who was not feeling well at all.

Lani

and Ila Fae who had just had shoulder surgery.

I'm so glad my sweet friend Mary thought of me and I was able to make lots of people smile today thanks to her and her friend.  (I also delivered one to Mary, but totally forgot to get her picture.)  I left for Krista's about 10:00 this morning, and didn't get back home until 4:00 this afternoon..  So many fun people to visit!

Cruising with Bonnie

A few months ago, Bonnie called and invited me to go on a cruise with her.  (Dennis was going on a fishing trip to Alaska with his buddies.)  I jumped at the chance to spend time with her and go on a cruise.  Because we wanted to make sure we both made it to Florida together, I flew to Arizona and spent a day at Bonnie's house. before flying to Florida..  There were quite a few glitches with my travel, but it all worked out and we made it safely to the cruise ship.

There are always fun things to do.  We went to a fruit and vegetable carving demonstration.

Quite a few game shows, spent time in the hot tub, that thankfully wasn't too hot.

We went to a mentalist show that was mind blowing!  This guy was incredible.  We went to a dance show, several shows where there was singing and  piano playing.  So much talent.  We listened to some books on tape, ate LOTS of food, worked in a nap almost every day, and met so many nice people.  That was one of our favorite parts.

We visited the Dominican Republic

St. Thomas and another island in the Virgin Islands

It was all so BEAUTIFUL!

Our last stop was an island owned by Norweigan Cruise line where we laid on the beach, got in the water and did a zip line.  I was very nervous, but it was Soooo Fun!

The night before we were to fly home, Bonnie went to check in for her flight, and realized that it had been cancelled.  Unbeknownst to us, there had been a world wide IT problem that affected the airlines.  Thousands of flights had been cancelled and thousands more delayed.  We talked to the cruiseline who had booked our flights, but they said it was the airlines fault and wouldn't help us.  Bonnie called Dennis and he went to work on getting her a new flight.  After waiting on hold for over 2 1/2 hours, he finally was able to talk to someone, and was able to convince them to book her on another airline since theirs couldn't get her out of Miami until Monday.  It was so crazy at the airport!  There were mile long lines everywhere.  Luckily for me, my flight wasn't cancelled,  it just ended up being delayed 6 hours.  We arrived at the airport at 9:00 in the morning and I didn't get out of there until 12:00 midnight.  There was no place to sit and wait, so people were all over the floor.  I sat on my suitcase for much of the time.  Bonnie had a flight at a different terminal and had to leave for her flight at noon.  It was a long day, but I met lots of nice people who were also waiting. I finally arrived home at 3:00 in the morning.  Cute Jordan came and picked me up.  It was so late I didn't want anyone to have to come and get me so I was trying to figure out how to get an Uber.  Jordan was trying to help me but then said he would just come and spend the night at our house and I could call him when I arrived.  He is so sweet!  When I got to the luggage area, the above picture was half of the unchlaimed luggage in SL airport!  I was  grateful that my luggage made it and very happy to be home safe.   It was so fun to spend time with Bonnie, she has been my best buddy since I was born.
