North Fork Overflow camping trip

Quite a while ago, Josh and Merijane sent out a group text to see if anyone was interested in going camping with them.  They had been able to reserve a group site, that you could have up to 30 people.  It sounded fun, so we said we were in.  Unfortunaty, Jamie's kids and Jordan's kids were starting school that week.

So, it just ended up being Josh's family, Krista's family, and us.

It was one of the most beautiful campsites we've ever camped in.  Krista and Josh both have trailers,

and we brought our tent.  Krista brought us 2 twin mattresses that made sleeping very comfortable.

The campsite was huge, we never saw any other campers but our family.

We played a really fun new game called Sky jo.

Everyone but Mike went to Minnetonka caves

It had 844 steps so we knew he would never make it.

It was incredible inside, stalactites and stalagmites everywhere!

It was 40 degrees in there, so a nice break from the heat.  By the time we got back to the campsite, Mike was ready to head home. He hasn't felt great for a while, he has had vertigo, and trying to walk on uneven ground is no fun.  He was such a good sport to come, but was done after 24 hours.   Everyone else stayed and went to Bear Lake the next day.  When you don't feel great, there's no place like home!  I'm glad we got to go, I'm sad it was so hard on Mike.

New curbing

A few months ago I was talking to my friend Joyce, and she mentioned that during the summer her son did curbing to make extra money

I gave him a call, and he said as soon as school was out he would put me on his schedule.  I didn't hear from him, so I finally gave him a call and he said his machine was broken, and it would be a while before they could get it repaired.

For the last 15 years I have had this black plastic that didn't look great around our trees.

I got online and called a couple of places and decided on Artisan curbing.  They did a great job!  Before, I had 2 circles around the trees, and he suggested combining them into one and I really like it!

He made the circles bigger, so I had to dig out all the old grass.

It was a little bit of work, but I was able to get it done and I think it turned out pretty nice!

Babysitting Jordan and Jamie's kids

Jordan and Jamie will be celebrating their 15th wedding anniversary next month.  They planned an Alaskan cruise, and asked Jamie's parents and us if we would be able to watch their kids for 4 days each.  Of course we both said YES!

They sent us this picture and I remembered we had a picture of us by this same eagle when we did our Alaskan cruise with my parents and siblings almost 20 years ago.

We arrived Thurs night and Fridaythe big boys and Savannah spent the day, building forts,

While Zac played on his train table.and played in his cozy coope.

Zac is staring to like their new swing. he HATED it when they first got it.

Saturday morning we went to Lowes and got fun kits to make a little truck.

They all did a great job!  Logan made a police truck, Parker painted his red and Savannah painted hers tie dyed.  (She loves tie dye)

That night we picked up pizza, (thanks Jordan and Jamie) and went to the park for a picnic.

The next day was Sunday and the dedication of the BEAUTIFUL Saratoga Springs temple.  Mike had planned to take Logan, but had not been feeling well, so Marcie, his other grandma who was staying with her parents in Orem, came and took him. What a special day for them!

While they were gone, Savannah and I made cookies.

The next day we invited Carissa and her adorable girls over to play on their water slide.

I brought my snow cone machine and the kids made delicious snow cones.

They loved the hot tub, it was such a fun day!

We were a little worried about Zac, because he has been such a momma's boy, but he went to me right from the start, and warmed up to Mike before we left.

Monday evening, was back to school night.  We got to go meet their teachers.  Shortly after we got back, Jamie and Jordan were home. They had such a fun getaway, and we loved hanging with their kids.

Our trip to Oregon

Krista and her girls, Lani and I all headed to Oregon in our van, to visit Tatia.  We had tried to talk Robynn into coming too, but she said she was not up for it,

but then, she surprised us and came, it was so fun!

We spent one day driving to the coast and doing site seeing there.

The kids loved playing on the beach

We loved watching them.

On our way home, we stopped at the Redwoods

The trees were HUGE!

We took a short hike and saw so many awesome trees, it was incredible!

There was no way to get back far enough to take a picture so you could see how huge the trees are.  I'm so glad we were able to go!

Robynn had a great idea for us to go to the temple and do Initiatories.  I hadn't brought a dress, so Tatia gave me one.  Robynn came out in the same dress, and it was the same one Lani brought.  Triplets!

Krista had brought a pink dress and Tatia hooked everyone else up with matching dresses for a fun picture.

Hailey made appointment for the big girls to do baptisms at the Medford temple which is only about 15 minutes away.

Tatia had lots of fun things planned, we did Christmas in July.

We put up a few decorations and had Christmas dinner.

The kids LOVED swimming in Tatia's beautiful pool and did so multiple times each day.

Tiny Gracie is the puzzle master, that girl can do 100 piece puzzles in no time at all.

The kids painted rocks,

All us girls embroidered hankies that Krista and Tatia made.  Tatia is definitely the Hostess with the mostess!  She had great accomodations and fixed the most delicious food for every meal.  She had been cleaning out closets and gave us bags of clothes for Zac, Finn and Porter from Simon, for Sophie from Penny, and for Hailey, Aida and me from her.   She is just the best!  It was such a great few days, we can't wait to go back!  Thanks Tatia for everything!
