A new skill

I've been trying to think of projects to do since we can't really go anywhere or do anything.  We have had these lights on the front of our house since we moved in.  (I'm sure they were the originals to the house when it was built 40 years ago)  so I decided it was time to replace them.

I went over to Lowes, and found a few I liked
(I texted Krista to see which ones she liked) and we chose the one in the center.

I bought one to go by the front door,

and one for either side of the garage.
Mike taught me how to put them up, and I did one of the ones on the garage, while he was sleeping

Here's a close up, a much more updated look than our old ones.

Since I now knew how to do the wiring on a light, I took down the light in my hall,
(I probably should have bought a new one)

and painted it black instead of gold.

Then, I noticed the one in my laundry room was gold also, so I took it down and painted it black.

I had never even realized, that the one in my sewing room was gold too.

Not for long!
My new skill of being able to take lights apart and hook them back up has come in handy.

Thanks Mike, for teaching me something new and useful.
A few weeks after I painted all my lights, Jordan asked me if I would like the lights that he replaced with can lights in his house.  YES! (they were much nicer than mine) sooooo, I got to install these.

I've now had plenty of practice installing lights.

Back to School continued

Krista's girls headed back to school today.  Hailey is in 9th grade and in High School!

Aida is in the 6th grade and in Middle school.

Sophie is in the 2nd grade and at elementary school.

With the corona virus, Krista didn't want to carpool, so she spends her morning driving the girls to the 3 different schools.  Matt is in charge of picking them up, they get out right before she gets off work.

Back to School (masked)

Back to school looks a little different this year.  All the kids have to wear masks, but they are being such good sports about it.  Jordan's family and Jamie's family both started this week.
Logan is in the 2nd grade

Parker is in Pre-K and doesn't have to wear a mask.

Molly is in 8th grade

Abi is in 5th

Kelsi is in 3rd

And Oliver is in Kindergarten this year!

)
I had fun filling baskets with some fun treats to go in their lunches

We spent Friday evening, delivering them to our grandkids, so much fun!

Family St. George Vacation 2020

With Covid 19 running rampid, we debated about cancelling our family vacation this year.  We planned it last Oct and have been looking forward to it ever since.  The kids and I, all felt ok about going, but Mike didn't feel comfortable.  We decided to let him stay home, and I would quarantine after,  until we were sure I wouldn't be bringing home any bad germs.  We rented this AWESOME 7 bedroom house.

It had a huge pool in the backyard, which everyone LOVED!

It also had a hot tub.  Sooooo fun! (How many people can you fit in a hot tub?)

Most of our time was spent in either the pool or the hot tub.
The "Bigs"

The "Middles"

The "Littles"

The Boys

And Savvy (wherever she was, there were lots of girls!)

We sewed masks

These girls did a great job sewing.

Kelsi, modeling hers that she made.

Sophie taught a mini class in Peerler beads.

They made some fun stuff.

There was a nice game room.

It kept the kids entertained when they weren't in the pool.😊

There was also a theater room.

The boys made amazing things with my magnet blocks.

We had a big birthday party for all the April-August birthdays that we missed because of Covid 19.
Jamie made these beautiful and delicious cakes, and brought them with her.

We had quite a few birthdays to celebrate!

Kelsi got these fun activity books for her birthday that she shared with the girls.

Lani brought some cool beads that the kids had fun making things with.

Jamie did a little drawing class with some of the girls.

There was never a dull moment,

So much to do!

One night, Lani and I tended all the kids, while their parents went out to dinner.
I had bought a few candy bars to play the candy bar game.

They had a great time getting to visit without kids.

Our last day there, we spent at Sand Hollow Reservoir.  Josh brought their kayaks, and the kids had so much fun playing in the water, which was 83 degrees.

They also had fun digging in the sand and making traps!

Again, wherever Savvy was, the girls were too!

At first, she was pretty nervous around so many people, (she's been in quarantine her whole life)
but it didn't take her long to warm up.

She was definitely the star of the show!

We had such a great day, we had a huge area of the beach,  all to ourselves.

All too soon, it was time to pack up our bags and head for home.
Hailey rode back to Salt Lake with me and Lani.

I spent a few days at Josh's and Krista's houses and headed home on Saturday.

We made a bunch more masks, since all the kids have to wear them to school this year.

The only thing that could have made our trip better, was if Mike had been there.
