Kids, Kids and more Kids!

Friday, right after school, I met Jamie in Lehi to pick up Logan for a sleepover.  She had a craft fair in Springville on Sat. so we got to play with Logan while she finished getting ready for it.

Mike called Krista Friday and invited her girls, who were off school to come and play for the day so she could finish up her painting project.  Logan had so much fun playing with Sophie and Aida.  They loved swinging in the baby swings.

riding big wheels!

and jumping on the trampoline.

2 babies down.

Logan climbed into the little car and Sophie really wanted it.  She was shaking it saying MINE!

I forget how messy babies are, I swept my floor more this weekend than I have in months!

Krista came and got her girls at bedtime, (we kept Hailey) just before Josh arrived with his family.  He and Merijane were leaving Saturday morning for Florida. He had to be to the airport by 6:00 so I invited them to stay so they wouldn't have to wake the girls so early and we could do the airport run for them. Jordan had been in Georgia doing interviews for internships, and arrived in SLC at 11:00pm, which was 1:00 Georgia time, so he was beat, and decided to have a sleepover too.  We had every room filled with Josh's family, Hailey and Logan, so we put a mattress in the play room and he slept there. Logan was awake by 5:30, so he went with us to the airport and then we stopped by the grocery store on our way home.

Jordan took off early in the morning to help Jamie set up her tables for the craft fair.  Mike took Logan down to join Jordan at the BYU game at 12:00.  Logan wasn't a big fan of sitting in the HOT sun and listening to people SCREAM, so they left about half time.  The girls dealt with the heat much better than the boys.
They put on swim suits and turned on the sprinklers!

Gabbie took some great naps, and the girls played games

Just before bedtime, we took Hailey home and got Aida to join Josh's girls for a sleepover. Gabbie, like Logan wakes up VERY EARLY.  She is quite self sufficient.  I was in the living room and heard the fridge door open and walked into the kitchen, and she had pulled a stool over to the fridge, and had the milk ready to get herself a drink.  I made her stand there, while I took her picture.  Too funny!!!

Sunday morning, Mike, Libbie and I attended the 10:00 session of the Ogden Temple dedication.  Krista brought her girls over and tended Josh's girls while we went, then she and Matt went to the 1:00 session while we watched all the girls.    They kids had fun on the swings, 2 big girls and 2 babies on the glider.  (I had no idea it could hold that many girls

It had been raining, and when I looked out the window, both babies were standing under the rain gutter with rain splashing down on their hands, (thankfully not their heads) eating their otter pops.
They are such cute little friends.

6 girls cozied up on the couch.

I needed new pictures of Gabbie and Katie, so I snapped a couple, they turned out pretty fun.

I sure love all my sweet grandkids!

On the way to taking the Cline girls up to their Nana to be tended for the last 2 days their parents are gone, we stopped by and visited Aunt Deanne.

They had made her this giant poster to put in her room.

We got back home at 7:00, to a very quiet house.  What a busy and fun weekend we had.

Our crazy grandkids

A couple of weeks ago, we had everyone over for dinner.  I had bought all the school girls a new back to school outfit, and wanted to take pictures of them together.  I found some t-shirts for the babies and we were set for a fun photo shoot.  (It never turns out quite as fun as I envision, but at least we got a picture with everyone in it!)  By the end, several are mad and at least one is crying.

They are such cute kids, I sure love them all!!!

Dad's 86th birthday!

It's hard to believe this guy is 86 years old.  We decided to celebrate it by going to Burger King like we did last year.  (It is one of his favorite places)

Here he is with Mike checking out the awesome photo album Kathy and Ric gave him.

We had a great turnout for the party!
Chip brought his 3 little ones

Our 3 big girls were there!

It was a very fun night, thanks everyone for coming!

Robynn had everyone write a short note to dad that she put on a GIANT Poster!  Here's what it said.

LESSONS FROM GRANDPA GREAT
Laurie-He taught me how to work hard and enjoy what I do.  I love him for the great example he has always been to me. Mike- Never to give up! Krista- He taught me how to serve other people. Matt- How to get food cheap! Hailey- He's really nice and I love him. Aida- He makes me good smoothiesJosh-he taught me that if it’s not broken, you probably don’t need a new one and if it is broken, you better fix it. Merijane-He welcomed me to the family and has always made me feel like one of his own grandchildren Libbie-He's nice to let us come over and play, and he makes milkshakes for us Katie- I love to play on his tricky bars Jamie-He taught me that everyone is a future friend Emily- He has always been kind and made me feel at home Molly-he lets us stay at his condo and he's awesome. Abbie-he lets us pick up his pinecones Kelsi-he's nice Jordan-He taught me the meaning of 'use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without" Jamie-He's always made me feel welcomeChandler: Things I love about grandpa, would be how we would go to the BYU games together and we would get the roasted almonds. And having to speak into his good ear has always been an adventure. I like talking to him about stories. Things like that have been special to me. Skyler & Kara- Grandpa has always been a great example, and more often the lessons I've learned from him come from watching him than anything he said. He polished my shoes on the morning of my wedding. He showed me how important it is to serve others. He also loves talking to everyone! Grandpa has never met someone he wasn't interested to get to know. Grandpa has always been interested in what's going on in our lives. Talking to grandpa on the phone is the best. He is genuinely interested in what's new, and what you're up to. Grandpa is an expert at fixing just about anything. His resourcefulness is a great example of how to become the best version of yourself. Addison- I loved going to Disneyland with Grandpa Gr-8! Harper- I loved your blue swimming socks, awesome! Brooklyn- He helps me not be afraid, he’s friendly, he’s kind and he’s is caring. Ricky- He taught me to have confidence in myself that I could do new things, installing dishwashers, fixing door locks on my car.  You are a gr-8 example Grandpa!Becky- I love how he lives life much younger than the years on the calendar say.  I want to be young at eighty six like Grandpa. He hasn’t let age slow him down at all. Robynn- Water will be fine, Waste not Want Not! Dick- You can be frugal without being cheap and how to be Christ like by serving anyone in need. Maxwell- I loved meeting him and spending time with him this summer. I love his curly white hair. Penny- I loved going to California with Grandpa Great and giving him hugs. Jacob- Grandpa never lets anything get him down. If he has to wear rubber boots to the beach, he does it! If he has a neighbor that needs help with plumbing, even if he's not feeling great, he still does it. He's a tough guy! Whenever you go over to his house, he always makes you something delicious to eat. His garbage plates are the best! Tatia- Grandpa always takes time for me. When I lived in Utah, he always made sure I had enough to eat and that my Jeep Wagoneer was working. He taught me how to fill up the oil and treat a car nicely. I think that’s why I never had troubles with the crazy car. Grandpa would do anything for his family and friends, and probably for a complete stranger. He's taught me to show love to everyone you come in contact with. Charlie, Kenzie, Keelie & Callum: Work hard. Get an education. Serve The Lord. Don't spend all your money in one place. Cars are awesome and can be fixed. If your car bumper is bent, tie a rope to it and a tree and drive and that will unbend said bumper. Have fun in what you do. Pierce, Stacy & Adelaide-Grandpa has never had trouble with making conversations with a stranger. His friendliness and ability to connect with people set an example for me of how I wanted to be with people on my mission. To this day, whenever I'm at church or work and see someone sitting by themselves, I think of Grandpa talking with them about anything. Grandpa is my hero when it comes to fixing stuff around the house. Which is a problem for me. I'm not as handy as he is (or my brother Charlie), and I think Stacy sometimes rolls her eyes when I try to fix stuff. I think that because Grandpa can fix stuff, I can unclog a drain easily. That usually leads to me making things worse and calling a plumber. Cierra- Grandpa has always been so willing to help out anybody who needs him.  He has always been a great example to me of service. Riley- You can tell he has always been a good worker by his hands Lucy- I LOVE Grandpa!!! Just ask him! Kathy- I love how he is always willing to help anyone, family, friend, or neighbor.  I love his work ethic and integrity.  Great example of how to live a worthwhile life.  Ric- Friendliest person I’ve ever met. Dad can talk to anyone. Chip, Elycia, Taylor, Devan, & Paige- He has taught us generosity, always willing to give out a loan when anyone is in need. Grandpa has taught us to never miss an opportunity to have a good conversation with someone, and when you tell him something, he asks questions and shows he's really listening. I love Grandpa's luscious locks, which give me hope that Chip will look that good when he's that old :) Chase- Hard work makes a Happy Life. Never stop serving others Morgan & Heidi- Grandpa is the cutest little old guy that I know. J He always makes sure to talk with you and always makes you feel special. Seriously anytime I think about grandpa I think about how cute, kind and sweet he is.  He truly is a special grandpa! We love him so much. Carissa- I love how he always tells me "keep smiling and working hard. Jeffrey- Dad has taught me to be a good neighbor, to take care of everybody. He taught me to shovel snow, mow lawns. He also taught me to bleed BLUE for BYU. Jenn- Papa B is always ready for free food even if it means dressing up like a cow. We spent some time putting duct tape spots on before going in to eat at Chick filet. Lauren- He was awesome at helping me load a dryer onto a trailer for me to have in my new home.Lani- Dad is my hero!  He is always there for me and I know he’ll do anything in the world for me  I’m thankful for his helpful hardworking hands.  I am grateful for his example to me throughout my life!  I am so thankful that he has always been responsible and has taught me so much..  I am grateful that he is one of a kind! Glenys- He always took such good care of me. I never ever answered the phone to have a bill collector on the other end.  He was wise with our money and always made sure there was money in the bank. I will love you forever Jay!
